As Serena and Heri work together to catch the killer, their inquiries lead them to industrialist/kingpin Datuk Ishak Hassan (Wan Hanafi Su), whose prominent family and known associates all have some connection to the victims. Seeking answers, Heri finds a way to insert himself into the Malaysian investigation. Meanwhile, in Jakarta, for ICD Lieutenant Heriyanto Salim (Ario Bayu), the case turns personal when his brother is found murdered in similar circumstances. Called in to investigate, Singaporean International Crimes Division (ICD) officer Serena Teo (Rebecca Lim) takes charge of a case across the border where a family has been slaughtered aboard a luxury yacht in Johor.

But what makes this series even more appealing is its unique combination of humor and drama that just never runs out of steam. The characters are adequately developed and the situations that unfold will keep you at the edge of your seat. "Hana Yori Dango" is an excellently produced show with topnotch production design. Challenges face Makino as she gets entangled in the world of F4, and subsequently, the affection of Domyouji and Hanazawa who are the best of friends yet are complete opposites of each other.
She seems to be getting by until she gets involved with the notorious F4 (Flower 4), a group of four of the richest boys on campus, and whose members include the very irritable Domyouji and the soft-spoken Hanazawa. Makino is a student at Eitoku, an exclusive school for Tokyo's rich kids. Joining the well-appointed cast is Oguri Shun (Gokusen, Great Teacher Onizuka) who takes on the role of the calm and collected Hanazawa Rui.

In Fall 2005, Japanese TV network TBS released its own live-action "Hana Yori Dango" series starring Inoue Mao (Kids War 3) as the strong-willed Makino Tsukushi and Matsumoto Jun (of pop group ARASHI) as the hot-tempered Domyouji Tsukasa (here, Matsumoto is a revelation as he renders a heartbreaking Domyouji). With all its incarnations, surely there must be something about its story that strikes a chord in people's hearts. "Hana Yori Dango" (Boys Over Flowers) is quite intriguing - written and illustrated by Kamio Yoko, it started out as a manga and was made into an anime, and later brought to life as the Taiwanese live-action drama "Meteor Garden". This, just as Makino was starting to have feelings for the enigmatic Hanazawa Rui, another member of the F4 and close friend to Tsukasa, marks the end of her quiet and untroubled days and turns her life into the sort of hectic mess she was trying to avoid. By doing so, she not only becomes the newest target of Tsukasa's anger, but also, and unexpectedly, the focus of his interest. It had parallel stories that highlighted social disparities between the classes in Korea and the unfortunate coupling of children for business advantages of the. The star that was born was Lee Min Ho and deservedly so. However, when her one friend at school manages to draw the ire of the leader of the F4, Domyoji Tsukasa, Makino jumps in to defend her friend and confronts him. Boys over Flowers was my second Korean series with English subtitles that I watched and made me an addicted Korean Drama fan. She's specially cautious of staying out of the way of the F4, a group made up by the four richest boys in school and that rules over the entire student body by intimidation and bullying. Makino Tsukushi, coming from a humble family of reduced income, feels out place at Eitoku Gakuen, a school largely attended by the progeny of the most rich and powerful people of the country, so she's determined to draw as little attention to herself as possible and pass her high school days without incident.
